Q: Is there a way to set this computer up so when I'm connected I can hear the chime or hear "You've Got Mail" instead of only when I go into Outlook? It seems I should be able to, I just don't know how to set it.

A: In Outlook Express go to Tools and Options. Under the General tab make sure that "Play sound when new messages arrive" is checked. You won't get any sounds unless you have the program open. You can have it opened and minimized at the bottom of your screen while you are surfing the 'net. Then when you receive mail you will hear the sound. 

To select the sound you would like to hear follow this procedure: On your desktop click on the My Computer Icon, then the Control Panel icon, then Sounds. Inside the box that pops up will be the events that you can change sounds for. Below that box is selection area. Highlight the sound you want to change and the Sounds box will show the current sound. You can click on the arrow button on the right to listen to the sound. If you want to change it, click the Browse button.  Another frame will come up with choices you can pick from. Highlight one of them and you can listen to it by clicking the arrow button. Select the one you want to use and click OK.
